Growth characteristics of apples
Apple prefers a low temperature and dry environment,and also has to have certain cold resistance and heat resistance.The suitable growth temperature is about 15-23℃.When the temperature is lower than minus 10℃ or higher than 32℃,it is not conducive to apple growth,
Apple trees like light and can only grow and develop normally under sufficient sunlight.When there is plenty of light,photosynthesis is strong,and the yield and quality will be higher.When there is insufficient light,the plant will suffer from excessive growth,weak branches and leaves,poor resistance,decreased flowering and fruit setting rate,and poor root growth.
During the flower bud differentiation and fruit ripening period,it is required that the air is relatively dry and the sunshine is sufficient.If conditions are suitable,the fruit surface will be smooth,the color will be bright,and the flower buds will be full.If it is overcast and rainy,it is easy to cause excessive growth of branches and leaves,poor flower bud differentiation,decreased yield,increased pests and diseases,and poor fruit quality.
Apple is more suitable for growing in deep soil layer,loose and fertile soil,good drainage,rich in organic matter,apple has a certain ability to resist acid and alkali,the soil pH value of about 5.5-7.5 is more suitable.
The growth management cycle of apples can be roughly divided into the dormancy period,bud break period,flowering period,fruit setting period,physiological fruit drop period,fruit enlargement period,color change period,and maturity period.For apple trees in full production,it generally requires 1 kg of pure nitrogen(N),0.4 kg of pure phosphorus(P2O5),0.4 kg of pure calcium(CaO),and 0.8 kg of pure potassium(K2O)to produce 100 kg of apples.It is necessary to increase the application of organic fertilizer,and it is recommended to combine organic and inorganic fertilizers.
